Booksellers are definitely thinking outside the box to draw customers. Borders' ongoing troubles may be helped along by offering chapters of new releases online but it could also backfire, especially if the book doesn't hold up to its strong opening. Partnering with Michael Eisner and his innovative online site probably can't hurt though. Celebrity does sell.
