Welcome To Marketing The Muse
I'm lucky. I write for a living.
By day, I'm editor in chief of a lifestyle magazine that circulates throughout Newport Coast California, www.location3online.com. Lessons I'm learning in magazine publishing reinforce what I've already learned in book publishing --
--writing a compelling story is only one ingredient.
My magazine is a quarterly publication, which means I have time to pursue other work. I love learning so moderating workshops for writers-sharing what I know and learning from you- has been a good fit. I decided to extend my real time workshop into cyberspace through this website designed by Jeremy James, a computer pro who writes novels when he's not working his day job. We met at the Southern California Writers Conference, www.writersconference.com. I was intrigued by a workshop he offered "Web Strategies for Writers." So was everybody else if the standing room only session was any indication. Prior to our meeting, I'd been building a Marketing the Muse blog by myself and it showed. Thanks to Jeremy, I'm pleased to call this website home. BTW, from time to time Jeremy will share web strategies for writers on MarketingtheMuse.com.
Whether we meet in real time at writers' conferences or online, Marketing the Muse intends to be a resource center for writers that hope to sell in today's marketplace.
